  6. Announcing... a distributed rendering project. You just read that.

  8. For the uninitiated, distributed rendering means using a whole lot of
  9. computers (preferably Amigas) to render a big impressive animation.
  10. So far (mid September 2000) the project consists of a small mailing list
  11. trying to discuss the project at http://www.egroups.com/group/reindeer
  12. The message archives are public, so you can see what's going on without
  13. joining the list (but of course we hope you will anyway).

  15. Oh, and in case you wonder, the name of the project is a portmanteau word,
  16. or whatever the term is for a word containing another word - in this case
  17. removing the i and one of the last e's leaves you with 'render', which is
  18. what we eventually intend to do - "i.e. render"!
